1. The steps I took to create this project in adobe illustrator is starting out with brainstorming and researching on google. I decided to go with a custom made testing robot inspired by the video game series Portal. The robots in the game are very nimble and flexible, made for testing and solving the puzzles in the game while using the portal gun. I created an art-board for drawing out my robot using the pen tool and for shapes experimentation to see what shapes look best on my robot. The next step was making shapes for the robot using the Rectangle, Ellipse, Polygon, and Line segment tool. I also learned some ways to improve the design on my robot such as using the pen curvature tool which is to curve and point of a shape to whatever you desire. You can see on the left arm how I used the curvature tool. Making the legs was the hard part, I wasn't sure how to construct them but they turned out pretty good and was satisfactory. I really enjoyed making the head, it is what makes my robot unique! I received inspiration from Wheatley- the antagonist in portal 2. For the gradient shading/color I had to edit it and what I liked about this part is how you can rotate the shading to the desired spot to make it more realistic. On the portal gun, there is the robot name which is "Test type 20.50" and the Aperture Sciences logo! The left arm is for grabbing items :) Cmd+ Z was used a lot for undoing as there is no physical undo button on illustrator.

2. Vector graphics are images that don't have pixelated edges, unlike photoshop which does to make it easier to edit out items. Raster graphics are pixels/ small squares being colored to create images which is again- good for photoshop and photo editing. Vector graphics could be used for cartoon images and non jagged edges and Raster graphics are used for editing pixels one at a time to perfect the editing.

3. The 3 major similarities between Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop is that they both include layers so it is easy to edit each item. Another similarity is that they both use clipping masks to make images to any shape you want. One last similarity is that they are both used by majority of graphic designers/ editors/ and web page designers all over the world. The 3 major differences is that Photoshop uses Raster graphics to make photo edits look more flawless and cleaner while Illustrator uses vector graphics to create non jagged designs and arts to make it look smoother on the edges when zoomed in. Another major difference is that in Illustrator you have more art designing options and tools more than photoshop. One more difference is how photoshop is mainly used for natural photos and realistic art but Illustrator is more for less-realistic minimalistic looking art!

4. Based on the learning target, "Interpret and explain terminology and practices specific to the graphic design sector by Illustrating a Robot using 5 essential Ai skills such as creating art boards, combining shapes, changing colors and using the pen tool" The level of mastery my project demonstrates Exceeds understanding. I think so because I have went above the shape curvature requirements, and have created my own robot body frame. I also went above with the coloring and shading to make it look more realistic. The criteria on this project in my opinion, was exceeded and went beyond the minimum.
